What is CFRI:
If you have not heard of Christian Family Resources of Iowa (CFRI), it is a Christian based Non-Profit Organization designed to help families in need.
Where are we today:
We have successfully completed the formation of the Board of Directors, filed for incorporation status and applied for federal ID #. The 501(c) (3) will be completed in 2010. We are receiving donations at this time. These donations will be tax deductible for the tax year 2010. (as always, please contact your tax advisor if any questions on deductability on donations). If you decide you would like to donate, please contact one of the board members for more information.

Goals:
Early financial goals to directly benefit our “clients…” (derived from input during SMOOTH – Single Mothers of Ogden Outreach Toward Happiness – Support Group Meetings):

The Board will decide priority, based on income and volunteerism.
- “Chappy’s” building to become “the base of operations” for CFRIowa.

Also – 501-C-3 Non-Profit Federal Tax Exemption submission. Water’s Edge Church has graciously offered to pay a substantial portion of the fee associated with this application. But there is still a bit to go to meet the total $850.00 requirement. Apartment above office building to become a CFRIowa “transition” apartment for a single-mom client and her kids. The lease to CFRIowa for this apartment is minimal, and in fact, donated at this time. It needs some upgrading prior to occupancy. This is a high-priority, short-range goal.
Mid-Range Goals:
Full Residential Provision for qualifying, single-mom (parent) families, including child-care, educational, and transportation assistance. Assisting the single mom/parent to transition from “dependence,” to confident, “inter-dependent” living.
Long Range Goals….
Give us enough volunteer energy, money, and the Lord’s blessing – and we’ll make big dreams come true. But for now, we will focus on the feasible
